There comes a certain moment in everyone’s life when it’s necessary to choose one’s future profession. I made this choice and entered the department of Systems of Artificial Intelligence in 2000. Sixteen years have passed since I graduated, and now I can say without a doubt that the choice was absolutely right.

One of the main benefits of our department is that they build a solid base of knowledge for their graduates, which is easy to put into practice afterwards. I can say so much about our lecturers, who gave us unstinting support and who created the best conditions for us from the very first day. I have warm memories of professor Gennady Tsibulsky, the head of the department, and unique and enthralling lectures on the Theory of information processes and systems. Taught by Dmitry Perfilyev. My favorite subject was Methods and tools for designing information systems and technologies taught by professor Yuri Maglinets, the head of Programming Technologies Laboratory, who was always ready to help in word and deed. I really could feel a caring and warm atmosphere and could rely on their support.

If you want to do an interesting and engaging job, I would advise you not to miss the opportunity to study at the School of Space and Information Technologies. I have got a marvelous profession, gained the capacities to learn, think and analyze.

I want to thank with all my heart all those people who taught me. Dear lecturers, I wish you health and patience! I wish further prosperity for the department of Systems of Artificial Intelligence! I wish all the prospective students to make the right choice and not to lose their desire for knowledge, which will definitely help them in their lives!

I am a second year student and my major is Information Security of Automated Systems. I like our School for the opportunities it provides in various fields of activity. You can reveal yourself in scientific activities, you can interact with employers, build a perspective for the future. A huge bonus for me is a second university degree in translation. In addition to studying, I have the time to organize events with the Youth Center, to self-develop, and to have a rest. Therefore, I think I have chosen the right School for myself!

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree four years ago and with a Master’s degree one year ago from the department of Computer Facilities. Six years have passed in a blink of an eye! During this time, there were many interesting things, I made new acquaintances and friends, the classes were followed by sessions and happy holidays: life was always in full swing in the School.

There was a positive atmosphere of development, it was a pleasure to study with capable and creative people, to get knowledge from highly qualified lecturers. I never had any second thoughts about my choice and never doubted that I would always be employable with my education.

Probably because I did not worry about my future job, those times were so happy. Now I fully understand that I’ve made the right choice: I’m absolutely satisfied with my education and profession.

Now I’m a first-year post-graduate student and also a lecturer at the Department of Computer Facilities, the School of Space and Information Technologies, Siberian Federal University. It’s one of the oldest departments in the university, which indeed trains high-qualified specialists!

In 2011, I entered Siberian Federal University, the School of Space and Information Technology and my major was The Information Systems and Technologies.

In the third year, we had to choose a specialty. The specialty I chose was offered by the department of The Systems of Artificial Intelligence. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the department, and later successfully got a Master’s degree.

I want to thank the teachers of our department for their individual approach to every student, for their kind-heartedness and understanding! My special thanks go to Maglinets Y. A., who supervised my Bachelor’s and Master’s theses. Your patience and hard work played a role not only in my education, but also in my personal development, as the projects we worked on were real-world, and not theoretical.

I still reckon that the profession is in high demand, as I work in this area and put the skills I gained from 6 years of my studies into practice.

The School of Space and Information Technology is like a family for me. Back in 2004, I had to choose my future profession, and I chose the specialty of Information systems and technologies. I was a student at the department of Systems of artificial intelligence. At that time, I couldn’t think that my entire life would be connected with the School of Space and Information Technology. I’m grateful to the School for the opportunity to make my way in the profession and become happy.

For me, the studies were both challenging and interesting. A systematic approach, base of knowledge and confidence – all of this was what the School gave me. There always were interesting studies, traineeships, scientific events and, certainly, a decent team.

As time went by, and now, in particular, our IT education, in my view, has become one of the most promising career options. Graduates, who used their time in the School wisely, are always able to find a well-paid job or be self-employed.

As for me, our IT education is, first of all, help to other professions, which makes it even more exciting to work in the area. You have to not only know your job and keep up-to-date with technology but also to understand another person’s work to create a product that will fully meet their requirements. What is more, there is a plenty of current trends, such as analysis of big amounts of data, machine learning, artificial intelligence – there’s no way you won’t get hooked.

The benefits of our profession include flexible schedule, possibility of remote work, and, in my opinion, it’s mostly about the high intelligence of people surrounding you.

Therefore, guys, if you are planning to cast your lot with the School of Space and Information Technology, to become an IT guy, then you are on the right track and your path will be interesting. So go for it, enter the School, dream and, certainly, don’t lose your desire for knowledge. You will definitely succeed in the profession you chose and become a demanded specialist. It could be a scientific path or career opportunities – it’s all up to you. You should just enter the School, and we will definitely support you, our future students, and will always help you to gain knowledge as much as possible and become happy.
