lecturer, deputy director for educational work

Four years have passed since my graduation from the School of Philology and Language Communication. During this time, I was repeatedly asked if I regretted about my school and specialty choice (I completed my bachelor's and master's degrees in Linguistics). I answer everyone that I don't regret a bit. I liked the approach of the school to teaching students, the people who teach and work there , as well as the atmosphere created by the administration and lecturers and actively supported by students, starting from the very first year. All this contributes to the formation of not just specialists in a particular area, but whole individuals with diverse knowledge and interests, as well as an extensive list of soft skills.

Education and life at the Philology and Language Communication School is based on mutual respect, encouraging students' sound ambitions and interests in the educational, scientific, creative and social spheres of activity, providing various opportunities for professional and personal growth, as well as conveying the importance of education in life.

We are not talking about the diploma itself with grades, but about the continuous process of cognition, which allows one to realize oneself in any chosen future profession in the future and to establish oneself as an interesting, well-mannered and versatile (multi-skilled) person in everyday communication.

After all, our whole life is built precisely on communication with other people. Therefore, for me the education received at the School of Philology and Language Communication is of great value and pride, and also opened all the doors that I have ever wanted to enter in a professional sense. After graduating from the School, I managed to work in the event sphere, in a translation bureau and even successfully pass an interview at an engineering company, because every time I could correctly present myself and my strengths in the framework of communication with people. However, at the moment I have chosen a place of work at the School of Philology and Language Communication, since I want to pass on my knowledge to new generations of students, behind whom our future stands.

Of course, getting an education at the School as a student and promoting this education as a lecturer demands a huge amount of work, patience and effort, hundreds of books studied, dozens of advanced training and other "difficult" nuances. But they are all worth it to later proudly refer to themselves as graduates or employees of the School of Philology and Language Communication.

The School of Philology and Language Communication is an excellent scientific and educational institution environment. I studied here in graduate school during 2017-2020, and now I teach Chinese at this School.

The School is located in the suburbs and surrounded by forest. Here is nature and fresh air. The unique academic building is equipped with modern equipment that meets the various needs of students. It is worth noting that it is always warm and comfortable inside the building, which often gives me the impression that I am in the south of China, and not in Russia, where it snows.

The School employs lecturers whose distinctive qualities are patience and responsibility. They are always happy to share their knowledge with me.

The School of Philology and Language Communication is an internationally oriented structure. There are students from different countries and regions. Here we can exchange different cultures and learn different languages. For me, this is the most prestigious educational institution school, where it is a pleasure to study.

I love many things about my studies. For example, I love that my classmates are from different countries. When we discuss something in the class, we will get to know interesting things from different points of view. And I've found out that languages are much more interesting than I thought. I learned about its origin and structure. Sometimes by learning Russian and English, I get to know something new about my native language (Thai) that I've never noticed it before!

In each semester there are different difficulties. For now, it's Foundations of the theory of intercultural communication that I consider being the most difficult one. There are a lot of theories and linguistic terms that are confusing sometimes.

My biggest challenge so far now is to stay productive and active with my studies as much as I can, happy and healthy as well! I miss Russia so much. In Krasnoyarsk now must be freezing, everything is covered by snow, and the city is beautifully decorated. I wish I could go back there sooner or later!

My name is Nadezhda Koval (Chudaeva), and I graduated from the School of Philology and Language Communication in 2016. During my undergraduate studies, I studied not only foreign languages, but also plunged into the surprisingly interesting world of language sciences: from cognitive to computer science. In addition to literature and regional studies of English and German speaking countries, I studied translation and its applied basics, which helped me a lot at the beginning of my career.

Now I live and work in Germany, Bonn, where in 2018 I was able to enter one of the leading German universities. Studying at the department of foreign languages directly contributed to the successful graduation from the University of Bonn, since the skills of academic English were very useful to me for in writing my master's thesis.

After graduation, I started working in a private research organization that coordinates projects in the fields of digital health and renewable energy, receiving grants from the European Commission. This is largely due to my attention to language details and the ability to communicate effectively in English and German. The excellent teaching staff of our school taught me how to think critically and use language tools correctly. And in today's competitive world, soft skills are incredibly important!

For seven years I had been studying at the School of Philology and Language Communication of Siberian Federal University.

For two years I have been teaching at the School, and my denial has been replaced by interest. It turned out that working with students is not just great, but inspiring! It may sound insincere, so I will explain: the very meaning of the word "student of the Philology and Language Communication School" here is special.

This is not just about former schoolchildren who came to get their diplomas. Here teaching is not only a one-way process of knowledge transferring from lecturer to student, but also communication in the opposite direction. And it is important for everyone here to remain open to new things, to be flexible, mobile and internally free.

I graduated from the School of Philology and Language Communication with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism in 2015. During this time, I managed to work as a TV and print journalism teacher for children in St. Petersburg, as a content manager, designer and curator of the press service at an engineering and technology school, and developed an author's program for the Media Design course for teenagers.

Today I work as a chief specialist of the Public Relations Center of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in Moscow. Thanks to the fact that during the training, each of our theoretical courses was supported by project work (from standard work - on a news story or text - to creating my own PR campaign, website or short film), I learned not to be afraid of new challenges and to be ready for any media work.

In addition to the skills and abilities, the alma mater gave me caring, creative and interesting people, professionals in completely different creative fields, with whom we still maintain relations.

School of Philology and Language Communication is a place where you can express yourself in everything. There are no boundaries here, there is only your desire to develop. It's nice when you can implement your ideas and you have the support of not only peers, but also lecturers.

All the knowledge and skills that have been mastered by me are now actively used at work. But the most important thing is that the School both gave knowledge and provided complete freedom for self-realization.

All this helped me to find myself and go the right way. I never regretted that I got here. I am grateful to this school for happy studenthood!

Postgraduate department, School of Philology and Language Communication, Siberian Federal University, Pyramid, pines, the sixth floor of the library. It seems that day after day you go to classes, read articles, monographs. Weeks, pages, people, chapters flash by. And you don't notice how quickly you change yourself: you begin to understand this world much better. Myths that seemed to be an unshakable truth collapse with a crash, templates and clichés are replaced by a genuine movement of thought.

During three years of studying here, I improved my English, tried science tourism (and was satisfied), published an article in a serious journal, which is indexed in the Web of Science database. Studying at the School of Philology and Language Communication helped me to take part in the grant of the Russian Foundation of the Basic Research (scientific project No. 20-412-24300), as well as to win the professional competition Teacher of the Year of Krasnoyarsk in 2021.

I have never regretted that in 2016 I entered postgraduate department in Siberian Federal University. These years were a good finish of my long student life, which took almost a decade in total.
